I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that the options for newborn photographers in the Washington D.C. & Northern Virginia area are endless. Selecting the right photographer for you and your family is so important. As a maternity, newborn, baby, and family photographer, I love working with families to create beautiful artwork of your most favorite people. My style has been described as classic, warm, timeless, rich & bold, and organic. You will not see many themed set ups for my newborn sessions, as I truly want your baby to shine in their images.
Newborn sessions take place at my boutique home studio in Haymarket, Va. on weekday mornings. You will have full access to my extensive collection of props, backdrops, headbands, bonnets, wraps and more that I’ve sourced from all over the world. I love delivering the very best newborn props to my clients. My studio is located just off Rt. 15. With easy access from 66. I am roughly 30 miles south of the Washington DC area. It is not uncommon for clients to travel 1-2 hours for their studio session. I recommend booking your newborn session in your second trimester but don’t wait too long. Please note I only prebook two sessions a week due to the unpredictability of each baby’s arrival. This ensures I have enough space in my schedule and allows me to give the very best experience to each family. Babies up to 4 weeks old may be accommodated based on my availability.

Celebrating a milestone during your baby’s first year? Or documenting your child’s birthday? These sessions are all about capturing what makes your child uniquely them! I offer three all inclusive digital packages with no hidden fees. These sessions are so much fun and I know the images we create will bring your family joy for years to come!

Pregnancy is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times of anticipation! Let’s capture your growing belly and feelings of joy. Maternity sessions are best done between 32-36 weeks. I can empathize if your feeling like you’re not 100% camera ready when you feel like you may just pop but I can assure you these photos will be cherished memories for your family and especially for that sweet babe growing inside.
Maternity sessions are meant to be fun and relaxed. We will discuss wardrobe options prior to your appointment. I offer several dress options and will send you a list of my favorite stores to shop for maternity gowns. As a Northern Virginia maternity photographer, it is one of my greatest joys capturing this time for your family. Be sure to reach out sooner than later so I can insure space on my schedule!
OUTdoor fAMILY SESSIONS
STARTING AT $980
Family sessions are a combination of posed and candid portraits of your family. You will snuggle, play, giggle, share secrets and I will capture your family in the most authentic way. Over the years I found I loved those in between moments that happen after the posed shots. The laughter, the way your toddler grins up at their Mom, or your kids getting their sillies out. Those images truly showcase your family’s personality. Don’t get me wrong, everyone loves a classic “everyone smiling at the camera” portrait…I do too! Let’s schedule a session where we can do both! I have various Northern Virginia locations that I love photographing families at. Apple Orchards, tulip fields, and rolling grassy fields just to name a few. I only open a couple weekend dates per month and offer several weeknight options through the year.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
The earlier the better! I typically book out 3 -6 months in advance. Please keep that in mind when booking.
HOW far along should I be for my maternity session?
I usually say 30-34 weeks but can be earlier if this is not your first pregnancy or you’re expecting multiples.
when should I bring my newborn in for their session?
I usually aim for 7-14 days old but that is definitely not set in stone. Are you reading this while holding your sweet four week old? That’s okay, reach out! I’ve photographed several “older” newborns beautifully!
Is there a package for the first year?
Yes, our Baby Steps Package! Bring baby in for their 3 month session, a sitter session typically around 6-7 months, and last but not least, their first birthday session. This is one of our most popular packages.
Where are you located?
I’m located in Haymarket, VA just off of 66 for easy access. Clients travel from all over Washington, D.C., Maryland, West Virginia, and throughout Northern Virginia for their session. It is not uncommon for clients to travel a couple hours for their custom portrait session.
Do we need to bring any props to our newborn session?
You don’t have to bring a thing except for your sweet babe and a diaper bag. I have a fully stocked prop closet full of blankets, wraps, hats, headbands and beautiful wooden and metal props sourced from all over the world. However, if there are special family heirlooms you’d like included in your session I recommend bringing those!
